Privacy policy
JK Accounting looks after your personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Who looks after your information
Personal information we receive through this website (jkaccountancy.co.nz) and in our advice and work is held by JK Accounting.
What we collect
- Website contact form: your name, email, phone (optional), what it’s about and your message
- Website visitor statistics: totals such as page views, where visitors came from, country and device type, which don’t identify anyone
- What you tell us by phone, by email or in person
- When you become a client: identity documents, your IRD number, and the income, business and financial records we need for the work
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give advice
- To carry out the accounting and tax work you ask us to do
- To meet our legal obligations, including tax law and the AML/CFT Act (anti-money laundering)
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising. We share only what is needed for the work you ask us to do (for example with IRD or the Companies Office), or when the law requires it.
How this website handles it
What you write in the contact form goes straight to our email through the mail service this website uses, and that service doesn’t keep a copy.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see visitor statistics. It uses no cookies and doesn’t follow individual visitors: it collects only totals such as page views, visits, where visitors came from, country, device type and page speed.
This website doesn’t use advertising cookies. The map on the contact page is loaded from Google Maps, and Google’s privacy policy applies to it.
How we keep it safe
We keep personal information secure and only the people who need it can see it. We keep it only as long as the work and the law require, then dispose of it securely.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask at any time to see the personal information we hold about you, or to have it corrected.
Questions and complaints
Please send any privacy questions to [email protected]. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
